Pioneering Inactivated In Ovo Vaccination for Avian Colibacillosis

2026 May, SatPublications

We’re proud to share our latest publication in MDPI Animals:
“Safety, Immunogenicity, and Vaccine Compatibility of a Trivalent Inactivated In Ovo Nanovaccine Against Avian Colibacillosis in Broilers.”

This is the first report of an inactivated in ovo vaccine against avian colibacillosis.
Our study demonstrates:
• Strong immunogenicity of the vaccine
• Compatibility with commonly used live viral vaccines
• A scalable approach enabled by Vaxinano’s nanovaccine platform for in ovo combined vaccines

Why it matters:
In ovo vaccination allows protection before hatch, ensuring early, uniform immunity while reducing handling, labor, and variability in commercial hatcheries.
This work represents an important step toward innovative vaccination strategies and contributes to tackling global challenges like antimicrobial resistance.
